Not much to say really

September 21st, 2007

Hello all, I’ve been feeling pressure to write here (mostly from myself…hehe) but have had very little to say! Flutterby Gifts has kind of been set on the back burner as life has moved in another direction. This is the way my life works and I’m so very very glad that the pieces that create my life can move and be versatile in the way to set things aside and give other things my complete focus.

For example: My husband and I just graduated massage therapy school (yay!) and while I am so very excited about that I now feel like my life which had been on hold is now on fast forward. All the things I was waiting on and that I couldn’t do because I needed to finish school are now available to be sought after.

We are looking into moving to anther state and building our very first home! This is looming large over my thoughts right now and the idea of it is really stressing me out. However the blessing of having our own home that is green and energy efficient and has the things that I want, where I want them…well this is certainly worth the risks and stresses!

I have also started moving toward my doula certification (actually four of them! birth doula, post partum doula, adoption doula and high risk pregnancy doula) I’ve got a ton of reading to do!! I’ve already tore through two of the books needed and am half way through a third. I need to keep the pace if I want to finish quickly.

I know that life will settle and Flutterby will come back around. I’m still taking and filling orders, just nothing particularly new to announce!

Congrats on the finishing school!!! That is awesome! Good luck on the doula…it is very cool to give birth that way. I tried naturally the firt time around and I lasted 18 hours…couldnt do it anymore. Kinda felt forced to take medications. Then with my second. I was rushed off to emergancy c-section because he had not heart rate when I had contractions. His cord was wrapped 3 times around his neck…go figure.

  3. Congrats on finishing school. so cool that now you’re doing the doula studies. I’d love to do that some day, when my kids are older. After two c-sections (non routine, we had extinuating circumstances), I was able to have a VBAC with the help of a doula. I’m very pro-doula now! Very exciting all this moving and house-building that you are pondering. Hope you find time to post updates every now and then!
